The Witness Service

  • Witness Service in Croydon Magistrates' Court since March 2002
  • Staffed by two paid co-ordinators and a team of approximately 17 trained volunteers
  • Managed by Victim Support Croydon Chief Executive and responsible to VSC management committee
  • Funded by the Home Office
  • Self-contained Witness Service facilities provided by Croydon Magistrates’ Court
  • Policy statement – to offer a free and confidential helping and befriending service to all witnesses who have to attend court to give evidence in a trial and their supporters. Also offered is a pre-trial visit to court.
  • We offer this service to defence and prosecution witnesses
