How we work
Most of the time we will get your details as the result of you reporting what has happened to you to the Police. We may phone you at home to check that you're OK, and ask if there's anything we can do to help we may even invite you to come and see us at the office if we feel it would help you to talk more openly, without worrying friends and family. [You will receive a letter from us with one of our leaflets offering you the chance to contact us if you need any help or information. Put the peel off, credit card sized info card into your purse or wallet you never know when you might need a listening ear.] You can contact us yourself if you want to. You don't have to have reported the crime to the Police. We will talk to you about any concerns you have about crime it may be that your friends are trying to force you into crime, it may be that one of your family members has been hurt or attacked, it may be that you saw a crime committed and it has made you feel upset and you'd like to talk to someone about it. R U OK? Is there to listen and to help you. We have trained members of staff who want to help you, we also have a group of young volunteers, who may be around your age, who want to help you. We are waiting for your call (020 8681 7711) / Text (07932 818696) ALL OUR STAFF & VOLUNTEERS HAVE HAD CRIMINAL RECORD BUREAU CHECKS |
