Bullying

Bullying can take many forms, some of which the police will take seriously and will consider to be crimes.

Here are some things you can try to get bullies to stop.

BULLIES LOOK FOR A REACTION - DON'T REACT

It's hard, but if you can ignore comments or taunts or the pushing or getting tripped over, they will eventually stop and leave you alone.

Keep a written note of incidents, including the following details:-

  • Date
  • time
  • place
  • who was involved
  • what was said or done.

This will be helpful when you tell someone.

YOU NEED TO TELL SOMEONE

Keep telling different people until you find the person who listens and helps you to get the bullying stopped. Remember to be accurate and honest. Do not exaggerate the truth. Do not make general statements. Use your written notes to be precise.

BE AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND YOU

If you know someone is being bullied, ask them if they're OK, and if you can help, then go and tell an adult and ask them to help.

See the other sources of help page for more information about organisations that can help you if you're being bullied
IT'S EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO STAMP OUT BULLYING!!
