Who Are We?

We are a project based in Croydon, Surrey, working with children and young people who have experienced crime and may be having trouble coming to terms with what has happened.

What is a crime?

A crime is an offence that is against the law. If it is reported to the Police they will try to ensure that the person who has committed the crime is caught and punished.

Should a crime have happened to me?

NO !!!

No one deserves to have an offence committed against them – whoever they are, or whatever they do – however old or young. Most often it is a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes however, you may know the person that has carried out the crime against you and that may make it even harder for you to deal with, talk about or even report to the Police.

That's where R U OK? can help

R U OK? Is part of Victim Support Croydon and up until now, has offered help and support to approximately 20 – 30 children and young people, (including their friends and families) per month. Usually we will have found out about these young people through the Police, but we can also be contacted directly by yourself or your family. You don't even have to report what has happened to you to the Police – we can help you anyway.

If you are in immediate danger call the police on 999
